The Lapsus $ group lost its leader and London police arrested a total of seven people associated with a 16-year-old hacker accused of attacking major corporations. The teenager was to use his skills to earn several million.
Hackers from the Lapsus $ group were exposed by other cybercriminals – on the Internet you could find the exact data and addresses of, among others, the head of the team, whom we informed yesterday , only a 16-year-old boy from Great Britain.
The teenager is considered to be one of the group’s leaders – at first, journalists appeared in his house to prepare the material, and then the British police decided to check the reports.
The officers confirmed that at the beginning, a total of seven people were arrested:
“Seven 16-21-year-olds have been arrested in connection with an investigation into a hacker group. They were all released under the supervision of investigators. Our investigation is still ongoing.
The aforementioned 16-year-old from Oxford allegedly raised about $ 14 million in cybercrime – his father did not know about his son’s activities:
“He never talked about any hacking, but he is very good at computers and spends a lot of time on them. I always thought he was playing games. We’re going to try to stop him from using computers. “
Cybercrime specialists have been following the teenager since last year as he allegedly made a mistake in covering his tracks, but his full identity was revealed by other hackers – possibly due to the group’s breakup.
