Troy Baker explains that he doesn’t know if The Last of Us Part III is in development, though he’d love to be involved with the game in case Neil Druckmann wanted him to be a part of the story.
Troy Baker – the voice actor who plays the role of Joel in The Last of Us games – admitted in an interview that he would be happy to return to the role of the protagonist if Naughty Dog decided to create a sequel.
The Last of Pods podcast had the opportunity to talk to the artist. As we were able to find out, Baker is not aware of the studio’s plans regarding the possible transformation of the series into a trilogy , but he is ready to cooperate at any time.
“My whole thing is this, and people always ask, ‘Is there going to be a Last of Us Part 3?’ I have no idea. No idea. I didn’t know there was going to be a Part II. But if Neil has a story that he wants to tell, and he wants me to be a part of it in any way, I am there seven days a week and twice on Sunday. I absolutely would follow him, and I followed him to the gates of hell and back, and bought ice cream,” said the actor with humor.

Recall that Naughty Dog is currently working on a multiplayer spin-off The Last of Us. As for the next single-player installment, a preliminary outline of the plot is allegedly ready at least from 2021 . On the other hand, director Neil Druckmann at the end of January slightly toned down the fans’ enthusiasm, saying that the team does not feel pressure to continue the series.
“ The Uncharted series has been a huge hit and Uncharted 4 is one of our best-selling games. However, we decided to close the last threads of the story and that’s it. We have to move on ,” he said at the time. ” If we can’t think of anything cool, we’ll just end the story on Part 2. “
