Todd Howard has in fact confirmed that Bethesda’s next project will be Fallout 5, after Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.
Fallout 5 will be done, it’s official . It was not an insider to say this, but Todd Howard himself, while giving some details about Starfield in an interview with IGN, also incidentally talking about The Elder Scrolls 6. He basically said that the active development of the new Fallout will begin right after the closure of the new Elder Scrolls (pre-production likely begins in the final stages of the development of the other).
More precisely Howard said that The Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production. “After that we’ll do Fallout 5”. So there is still a lot of time to see him (who knows if he will make it for this generation). Meanwhile , Bethesda also has other unspecified projects to look after. Probably one of these is Fallout 76 , which as a live service must be kept active, but who knows that there is not even more.
On Starfield Todd confirmed that there will be four main cities and that it will not be possible to indiscriminately land on any point on a planet. Only the main story, net of side missions and all other activities, will last between 30 and 40 hours. In total there will be more than 200,000 lines of dialogue.
In short, after the colossal space, Bethesda wants to unleash the new chapters of its two most important franchises.
