This comparison allows us to appreciate how the original Suikoden has changed for its remastering in Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, which will be released in 2023.
Konami surprised us during its presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2022 by announcing Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars , a remastering of these two classic RPGs from the 90s. The compilation will arrive next year on consoles and computers with new functions, new effects and with texts in Spanish, but above all what is striking is its renewed graphic section.
The Suikoden and Suikoden II remasters will feature new backgrounds redrawn in high definition, as well as new character portraits by Junko Kawano , designer of the originals. This is the most visible and striking part of the remasters, which is why the YouTube channel ‘Cycu1’ has published a comparison between the remaster of the first game and the original version from 1995 so that we can see how its graphic section has changed. You can see it below:
Beyond a graphic remastering
Although it is the first thing that jumps out at you, the graphic section is not the only thing that has been remastered for Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars : in addition to new illustrations of backgrounds and characters, the game will feature new visual effects and as well as a remastered battle sound and modern gameplay features like a new auto-save system, battle fast -forward, or conversation log.
All of these features will make Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars a celebration of the Suikoden Saga that will surely appeal to fans when it is released sometime in 2023 . His arrival is confirmed for PS4 , Xbox One , Switch and PC ; on this last platform it can already be added to the Steam wish list, a store where it already has an official page but no price or release date.
