Saber Interactive takes control of the project after some problems from Aspyr Media; in principle the game will not suffer delays.
A few weeks ago it was leaked that the ambitious action RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake for PS5 and PC in the hands of Aspyr Media was suffering from some problems, among which was the loss of several managers and disappointment with the state of an internal demo. In the latest financial results report, along with the purchase of many studios and the rights to The Lord of the Rings , it would be confirmed that KOTOR Remake is now in the hands of Saber Interactive.
The text does not directly mention the remake of the Star Wars games , but it does say that ” one of the group’s AAA projects has passed to another studio within Embracer . It has been done to ensure the level of quality that is need
Switching from Aspyr to Saber Interactive, which was collaborating on the project , was one of the options that Aspyr employees mentioned a month ago . “Aspyr will do whatever it takes to make the best game they can,” Matthew Karch of Embracer’s board of directors said a few months ago. “When we acquired Aspyr we knew from the beginning that they would need our help. Saber has a tremendous amount of experience creating these types of products. They’ve done it with Halo – multiple Halo products – so we’ve spent a lot of time working on this game.”
The return of one of the favorite Star Wars games
The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake will integrate elements of the two KOTORs into the current Star Wars canon . It is one of the many projects that are underway for the license now that exclusivity is not in the hands of Electronic Arts, so in addition to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor we will see an open world adventure from Massive Entertainment ( The Division ) and Star Wars Eclipse of Quantic Dream.
KOTOR debuted in 2003 and quickly became a beloved game among fans for telling the eternal clash between Jedi and Sith but 4000 years before the first film. The remake will have some changes to the story and combat system , which will replace turn-based combat with an action system inspired by modern action RPGs.
