Who exactly is it, the project manager did not specify, but the character should be presented in the upcoming trailer. It can also be an unkillable monster that is chasing the player.
The fact that the protagonist of The Callisto Protocol will not always survive in a space prison alone, game director Glen Scofield mentioned in an interview with The Gamer, explaining the differences between his horror and Dead Space.
Scofield noted that The Callisto Protocol is much more cinematic, and the main character is constantly talking to someone. During this, he also mentioned that the protagonist has a certain “fellow traveler”.
“Yeah, [The Callisto Protocol] is a sci-fi horror, but it’s different,” Schofield said. “There’s some similarities here and there, because it’s me. I hope that people… not forget Dead Space, but just put it aside. The way we tell the story is in movies, and in cinematics that seamlessly go into the game. The character does a lot of talking, there’s a follower, there’s other characters in the game, so it should feel different.”
When Scofield was asked more about the partner, he replied that he should be officially introduced in the next trailer.
What character we are talking about is still unclear. The author of The Gamer believes that this may be the heroine of the actress Karen Fukuhara, known for The Boys. Earlier, a screenshot was published on the network with her heroine, who is also serving a sentence in a space prison.
Judging by the context of the conversation, it could not necessarily be a friendly character who would accompany the hero. It can also be a special monster that haunts the protagonist for most of the game.
The action-horror is set to release on December 2 for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
