It has been known for a long time that Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 7 will get the next-gen updates for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. However, it looks like the awaited updates are closer than further. The same thing happened with the next update for Assassin’s Creed Origins , which was made available to players shortly after.
Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S – next-gen update is fast approaching
On the PlayStation Game Size Twitter profile, which searches the Sony database for interesting information, it was published that new updates for the above-mentioned PS5 games are already on the servers of the Japanese corporation. Although we’re only talking about PlayStation 5 titles, the next-gen update will surely hit the Xbox Series X | S at the same time.
The native versions of the latest Resident Evil games on PS5 weigh this:
- Resident Evil 2 – 21.834 GB (not updated)
- Resident Evil 3 – 20,480 GB (not updated)
- Resident Evil 7 – Not announced
It cannot be denied that next-gen productions will not take up too much space, so an additional PS5 disk will probably not be needed to accommodate them. It is not known when the files will be released to players, but there is a great chance that on the day of the Capcom Showcase conference .
The updates will be available for free download to all owners of the PS4 or Xbox One version of the games. The content of the next-gen updates is unknown, but we should expect, among other things improved graphics and possibly a ray tracing implementation. Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 will not be sold in new boxes with the PS5 or Xbox Series X | S logo.
