At the end of last week, there was some very interesting information about the new Tomb Raider. Crystal Dynamics is to bet on several treasure hunters, and Lara Croft will be their leader. However, there are many indications that a woman will eventually find her love.
Crystal Dynamics is preparing a new game from the Tomb Raider series and the developers are to make some really bold decisions. Chris Klippel at Press-Citron.net provided details of the script that Colin Moriarty of Sacred Symbols found out. The information was released as the developers are looking for actors who can play the main characters.
In the new story, Lara Croft is to be an experienced specialist who, in her 30s, will lead the team of treasure hunters. Currently it has not been confirmed that this team will only include women, but the script reveals two names: Devendra and Tanvi.
The heroine of the Tomb Raider series is also very famous, and her “legendary career” has been described and presented by journalists or even in novels.
In a new adventure, Lara Croft will “face something too important to deal with on her own.”
“On this new adventure, Lara will encounter a challenge she can only overcome with a team at her side. Collaboration is foreign to her: she’s always succeeded alone, so in this situation she’s a fish out of water.”
The heroine must now cooperate, which is to suggest that the game will feature cooperation – as you know, Crystal Dynamics has gained a lot of experience in developing cooperation-based games thanks to Marvel’s Avengers.
However, the title is further described as an “action adventure”, which in addition will be set in the modern world that will face a “mysterious cataclysm”.
It is very possible that Crystal Dynamics will want to bring up the topic of Lara Croft’s sexuality as the studio is looking for an “authentic British woman” in her thirties similar to Emily Blunt or Rosamund Pike – and “romantic scenes with another female character” will play the role.
