“a bit of silliness and a bit of seriousness”
The creator of the Yakuza series recently established his own studio and shared information about the planned game, inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino.
Toshihiro Nagoshi gave an interview to the German 4Playres portal. He admitted that he cannot reveal too much, but the game will be violent, although the band does not want to go into a thriller or horror film .
“I want my game to be more like a Quentin Tarantino film – so there can be humour. Something that’s just intimidating or just bloody and brutal doesn’t suit my taste – I want a human touch, a bit of silliness and a bit of seriousness, that’s what I’m in the mood for at the moment,” said Nagoshi.
The developer also promised that players will not have to wait long for the announcement of the game: ” I’ll probably reveal the game plans sooner than most developers would .” Nagoshi Studio was founded in January and is wholly owned by the Chinese publisher NetEase Games . The team’s mission is to deliver “AAA titles targeting players all over the world.” A veteran of the gaming industry also admitted that he left Sega after more than 30 years of a successful career to focus again on working directly on game development.
