Soon, the first players will get to know Valve’s new platform. It seems very likely that everything will go according to the manufacturer’s plan and Steam Deck will not have another delay – the company is getting ready to ship the devices. It promises to be a good opportunity to check, among other things, God of War.
Steam Deck turned out to be one of Gabe Newell’s big surprises. Valve originally planned to ship the hardware in late 2021, however difficulties in the global supply chain caused the launch to be postponed. In the latest news, the company confirms that it has solved all the problems and will start delivering a portable proposal according to a predetermined schedule, thanks to which at the end of February the first customers will experience the quality of the device for themselves.
“First and foremost, we’re on track to ship Steam Deck on time. Global pandemic, supply issues, and shipping issues notwithstanding, it looks like we’ll be able to start getting these out the door by the end of February.”
The creators also focus on the Deck compatibility program so that players can check which productions are fully ready for play on the device. Four factors are taken into account: data entry, trouble-free operation, image display and system operation.
When talking about new equipment, we must not forget about games. Valve has announced that it is sending a large number of development kits to more teams that will be able to test their titles and adapt them to the new platform. After successfully passing the verification, the productions will receive the green badges “Verified on the Deck”.
