It looks like Ubisoft has big plans for the refresh itself, as well as for what may come in the future.
The announcement of Splinter Cell Remake has received wide echo throughout the video game industry. This should not come as a surprise if we take into account the enormous phenomenon of the version that debuted nearly 20 years ago. In many ways, it was groundbreaking and set new boundaries for the species. The rumors of a potential refreshment alone built high expectations.
Recently, an interview with Ubisoft Toronto director Istvan Tajnay was released. The man told a bit about the studio’s vision in the context of such a high-profile brand. He mentioned how important it is for them to take care of this series and that they are aware of the considerable responsibility that has fallen on the entire team – in a positive sense, of course :
“we know how high the expectations of the fans are for us to modernize the brand while making absolutely sure we don’t lose any of its essence; we want to make sure that Splinter Cell fans really love it.”
Very interesting studies have also been made regarding the future of the series and subsequent editions that may potentially appear in the future :
“When it comes to future projects, I want the studio to revive the Splinter Cell brand,” Tajnay said. “To really satisfy its core audience that is very hungry for a new Splinter Cell and also broaden the horizon of the series to new players. I see a bright future for Splinter Cell.”
Admittedly, it sounds really interesting and it undoubtedly allows you to sharpen your teeth at what awaits us. Of course, the next remake will be the showpiece of everything and it will throw fans’ expectations on the right level. As long as it turns out positively, we will have a nice future.
