Everything related to the Silent Hill saga must be taken with tweezers when reporting and giving news. Until now, the last thing we knew about the saga officially, after the fiasco of that supposed remastering of the first Silent Hill, is that Silent Hill: The Short Message was classified in South Korea , but in the middle of all this process, Christophe Gans, the famous film director confirmed that there are “several games of the franchise in development.”
Gans is in charge of directing the Silent Hill film reboot . In an interview with the French portal Movie and Game, the creative indicated that he works with the original creators of the Silent Team and “is aware of the next game in the franchise.”
Silent Hill Reborn?
Specifically, Gans commented on the following:
“I work with the Silent Team, the original creators of Konami, and there are several games in development at the moment. There are several teams working and a wide range of games. They are going to revive the franchise. I think they’re very impressed with the success of the Resident Evil remakes, which really are exceptional.
I’m not working directly on the games, but with Konami. Not with Kojima, but with the Silent Team, who I met when I directed the first Silent Hill movie and are still around.”
Another more than interesting detail is that Gans confirmed that Bloober Team was working on the Silent Hill 2 remake.
Interviewer: “Because we know Bloober Team are working on Silent Hill 2 Remake”
Christophe: “Yes“
The filmmaker had already referred to the Silent Hill games in June in an interview on the French portal Jeauxactu where he had stated that the ip was going to “relaunch in terms of video games”.
