Rise of the Ronin, recently announced, aims to sell more than 5 million copies according to Koei Tecmo: the publisher considers it a ” important strategic project”.
Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a new Team Ninja RPG: Rise of the Ronin . The game is published by Koei Tecmo and will also arrive on PC. The publisher, according to some statements, considers it an important strategic project and aims to sell more than 5 million copies.
The information comes from Takashi Mochizuki , a Bloomberg reporter. Mochizuki writes, as you can see in the tweet below: “Koei Tecmo confirmed “Rise of the Ronin” is a title it hopes to sell more than 5 million copies as one of important strategic pillars of the company’s mid-term growth strategy.”
It should be emphasized that this is an exclusive PS5 console and that it will also be released on PC. Selling five million copies without releasing the game on other consoles is therefore an obvious goal, especially considering that it is a new IP. The first Nioh, after a few years, however, has reached 5 million copies, so it is not impossible to achieve this with Rise of the Ronin.
Clearly the ambitions for this project are high. The open world nature could attract the attention of many players, as happened with Elden Ring. Rise of the Ronin has also been a project in development for many years, so Team Ninja got to work on the foundations seriously.
