According to a new update reported by SteamDB, the alleged PC version of Returnal will be optimized for Steam Deck.
The alleged PC version of Returnal that appeared in the SteamDB database a few months ago apparently already at launch could fully support Steam Deck , according to one of the latest updates received by the application.
At the end of last May, a mysterious game codenamed “Oregon” was spotted on SteamDB . In the update history there are some rather obvious references to the title of Housemarque, such as “Atropos” , the planet where Returnal is set, and “Tower of Sisyphus”, or the Tower of Sisyphus introduced with a free update a few months ago. The presence of tags such as “Sci-Fi”, “Rogue-like”, “Shooter”, “Female Protagonist” and “Third Person”, then, only reinforces this theory.
“Oregon” received a new update yesterday, which as you can see in the image below has added support for the Steam Controller and Steam Deck touch controls , thus suggesting that the porting will be optimized for run on Valve’s PC console.

Meanwhile , Housemarque is working on a new IP for PS5 , which the developers say will be an even more bizarre game than Returnal .
