One of the most beloved developers in the industry is undoubtedly Remedy. First for having given us that eternal gift called Max Payne and secondly for having done the same with Alan Wake. But of course, the studio has always shown a knack for spectacular action. And good proof of this was the first installment of ‘Control’.
The title, which was even nominated for game of the year -and in fact, for many it was-, received up to two DLCs that connected the franchise with Alan Wake himself, making a kind of “Remedyverse”. Last year the developer confirmed that it was working on several projects, including one codenamed ‘Heron’. Well, it has finally turned out to be Control 2 .
Control 2 will be a big budget title
We have known it through this joint statement from Remedy itself and 505 Games , which currently place the project in a concept state. In principle, the budget amounts to 50 million and the studio will retain all the intellectual property on it, although all the profits from it will be shared between them and 505 Games in equal parts.
Control 2, which we can now officially call it that, will be available only on new generation machines, Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and of course, on PC, again using the famous Northlight engine, which is precisely also being used for the sequel to Alan Wake. Perhaps it is too soon to know more about the plot or how it will approach the new adventures of “The Director”, but it is undoubtedly good news.
