Quake returned thanks to the remaster, but as it turns out – the developers did not say the last word. A new update has landed on Sony and Microsoft’s servers, which allows owners of the most powerful platforms to see the title in the expected quality.
The last QuakeCon brought an announcement and the simultaneous premiere of Quake . The game returned thanks to the refreshed version, and although we cannot talk about a full remake in this case, the title presented at the time enjoyed great interest.
The creators have just confirmed that they have not forgotten the position and have prepared the next-gen update that allows you to use the potential of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S – the patch offers the following elements:
Xbox Series X | S
- 120 FPS
- Xbox Play Anywhere
- 4K maximum resolution
- 120 FPS
- DualSense Adaptive Trigger + speaker
The creators did not take care of the classic update, but on the Xbox, the improved Quake will be downloaded automatically (thanks to Smart Delivery), and on the PlayStation 5 you have to turn on the item and select “PS5 | Full | Quake PS5 Upgrade” in the menu or enter the PlayStation Store and download the new edition.
This is definitely an interesting option for players who want to enjoy the improved title – although of course you must have a suitable TV or monitor to be able to run around the locations in 120 frames at 4K resolution.
