As announced a few weeks ago, Project CARS 2 has been officially removed from Steam due to the expiration of some licenses that EA has not renewed.
Slighty Mad Studio had already announced it: Project CARS 1 and 2 will be removed from sale , and the second episode has already arrived to greetings. The racing game has in fact been removed from Steam and there will therefore be no way to purchase it through Valve ‘s well-known digital platform .
The reasons for this farewell are the same ones already confirmed by the developers last August, and concern the expiration of licenses for tracks and cars. At present it is not known whether the game will make its return to the catalog in the future, but from 21 September the game is out of print, while on 3 October it will instead be the first chapter of Project CARS to be removed from Steam. On the other hand, Project CARS 3 remains intact , whose licenses are still in order.
Slighty Mad Studio, we recall, is a subsidiary of Codemasters , in turn under the Electronic Arts label : it is therefore very likely that EA has given up on renewing the licenses for a game in any case with a few years already on its shoulders ( Project CARS 2 was originally released in 2017), preferring perhaps to focus on the future of the franchise.
