The studio is investigating the possibility, as other PlayStation Studios developers have done, but its producer believes that it is not something easy.
Gran Turismo is celebrating the Gran Turismo World Series in Monaco and its 25th anniversary event. The producer Kazunori Yamauchi has answered some questions in the media, such as GTPlanet , a specialist in speed games , and one of them is related to the possibility of seeing Gran Turismo 7 on PC, something that Polyphony Digital does not rule out.
Sony’s current strategy allows for porting some of PlayStation Studio’s titles to PC, including God of War , Spider-Man , Uncharted 4 , and Horizon Zero Dawn , among others, and they’ve even acquired developer Nixxes to expedite these releases, for therefore Gran Turismo 7 on PC would not be strange. When asked if Polyphony Digital has considered releasing Gran Turismo 7 on PC, Yamauchi answers in the affirmative.
However, the producer assures that Gran Turismo is a game created to suit the hardware and needs quality standards: “There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
