The arrival of BioShock 4 (obviously unofficial name) has been rumored for a long time now . There are more and more indiscretions and leaks that speak of the new project, now orphan of Ken Levine and Irrational Games, like today’s one, which would have revealed two rather important indications for the development and the marketing campaign .
As usual in these cases , the various indiscretions come from the LinkedIn profiles of those who have worked (or are still) working on BioShock 4 and once again it was the popular social network dedicated to work that revealed the two details of which we are going to talk to you about. In fact, according to the profile of a Principal Systems Engineer, the new game in the series was created using the Unreal Engine and is optimized for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. Obviously the name of the game is not mentioned, but the developer has covered this role in Cloud Chamber, the development studio that has in hand the franchise after the dissolution of Irrational Games .
This information provides us with two important details : the first is that BioShock 4 will be confined to next-gen consoles only, thus excluding PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The second, however, denies the rumors due to a possible temporal exclusivity on PS5. The development of the game, at least according to what emerges from the post on LinkedIn, was carried out in parallel on both platforms. Of course, we cannot exclude any marketing agreements, perhaps based on exclusive DLCs for one or the other console, but for now a release limited to a single hardware is to be totally excluded .

BioShock 4 could be unveiled in 2022 and if the first rumors were about a release this year, it is always better to wait for any official communications from the publisher.
