NBA 2K23 has pre-load available on Xbox Series X | S with early download and installation, proving huge size for the game.
The pre-load of NBA 2K23 is already available on the Xbox Series X | S and, apparently, it requires a considerable free space on the SSD to be installed, given the enormous size of the game: based on the Xbox app, it seems they are necessary 152 GB of free space.
At the moment, Xbox Series X and Series S are the only platforms with pre-load available, as it does not seem to be yet for the previous generation consoles, or Xbox One, while on PS5 and PS4 early download and installation will be available. only starting from 7 September, so we do not yet know the data of these.
It is very likely that an inordinate amount of free space is also required on PS5 , however: despite the data compression system notoriously making games smaller to run on the new Sony console, it remains to be seen how this will be exploited by 2K Games, because the previous chapter was however gigantic and little different from the other versions.
To make a comparison, as reported by MP1ST, these are the dimensions of NBA 2K22 , the previous chapter, at the time of launch (therefore without considering expansions, updates and subsequent additions):
- Xbox Series X | S: 115.56 GB
- Xbox One: 84.3 GB
- PS4: 99,137 GB
- PS5: 109 GB
- Switch: 45.2 GB
- PC: 110 GB
It is possible that NBA 2K23 is a candidate among the most expensive games in terms of request for free space on the new consoles, even if the primacy of Call of Duty will be difficult to approach.
