Monster Hunter Rise continues to be a runaway success with sales of 9 million copies, while Monster Hunter World also surpasses 18 million.
Capcom has released updated sales figures for the Monster Hunter series, which continues its smashing global success with Monster Hunter Rise at 9 million and Monster Hunter World at 18 million copies , certifying the series as one of the biggest best sellers for the series.
Shortly after the launch of the Sunbreak maxi-expansion , therefore, Monster Hunter Rise can already count on a truly massive user base, which has matured within a year : moreover, it is a quantity of players gathered above all on a single platform, or Nintendo Switch, considering that the PC version only arrived in January 2022.
For comparison, Monster Hunter World has reached 18 million users but being present on three platforms and over 4 years. In any case, the latter also continues to sell : it is the best-selling game ever for Capcom, which registered another 200,000 copies from December 2021 to March 2022.
It should be noted, however, that these figures do not include the Iceborne expansion: this alone has sold another 9.2 million units, with 400,000 additional copies registered from December 2021 to March 2022.
A similar fate is likely also for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which will be launched on June 30, 2022 on PC and Nintendo Switch. Given the trend of the new chapter, it is possible that this expansion is also a great success, perhaps also destined to overcome Iceborne given the greater acceleration it seems to have on the market currently.
