According to Nick Baker, Microsoft is partnering with NIS America to bring some of the games released by the Japanese company, such as Disgaea, to Xbox.
Microsoft may have entered into negotiations with NIS America to bring the games published by the Japanese publisher to the Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One , such as those of the Disgaea series . This at least according to the latest tip from Nick Baker, aka Shpeshal_Nick.
In the latest episode of the XboxEra podcast, Baker suggested that Microsoft is working with NIS America to bring some of its games, or perhaps a specific series, to Green Cross platforms. In doing so, she reminded podcast viewers that she had heard similar rumors for the Persona series as well, which are now in the pipeline on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One as well.
Baker hasn’t mentioned any particular game, but the most popular name is that of the Disgaea RPG series, with the latest chapter, Disgaea 6, arriving on Nintendo Switch last year, and on PC, PS5 and PS4 last month. NIS America is a subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software and is in charge of localizing and publishing games in the West, also of other external Japanese developers, such as those of Nihon Falcom (The Legend of Heroes, YS), who may be involved in Microsoft’s aims.
We’ll see, but for the moment we suggest you take these rumors with a grain of salt. Nick Baker is a fairly well-known insider in the industry, but not all of his tip-offs have turned out to be correct in the past.
