Dance pads are often used to complete particularly difficult and demanding titles such as Dark Souls . A US streamer, however, has decided to use one of these peripherals to complete Metal Gear Solid. The result? Obviously positive! A very demanding run, broadcast live on Twitch.
Lilly, known as KittyRawr, started the run on Metal Gear Solid about three weeks ago , with some breaks due to physical exertion. “I immediately thought about Hideo Kojima’s game for a dance pad run. This is a title that I know well, and I always wondered what it would be like to play it with this particular peripheral and what the challenges against Tank or Psycho Mantis would have been like ”, the words of the streamer declared during an interview with colleagues at Gamesradar.
The whole run was a lot of fun and the streamer also demonstrated some skill with the dance pad, so much so that she defeated Tank on her first try . Certainly not an easy undertaking, which was necessarily spread over several sessions. The streamer completed the game on Normal difficulty, taking about 14 hours, saving 16 times and reaching the game over screen 120 times. Respectable numbers, given the level of complexity in the controls. The game sessions are obviously recoverable on the KittyRawrs Twitch channel , while a little further down you can see the statistics at the end of the run.
Metal Gear Solid is perhaps one of Hideo Kojima’s most iconic games. The series is currently on hiatus and it is unclear whether Konami will release new chapters following the divorce from the game designer . Kojima is currently working on a new game, of which we do not know the details. Keep following Tom’s Hardware for all the upcoming updates from the world of video games.
