Metal Gear Solid never ceases to amaze, and a speedrunner has discovered a way to control the guards in the PS1 title.
There are video games that continue to amaze after a lifetime, and among them is the legendary Metal Gear Solid released on the first PlayStation .
The iconic saga of Hideo Kojima has always hidden many goodies and easter eggs of all kinds, some intentional and others incidental.
One of these was recently discovered within Metal Gear Solid 3 , something absolutely creative that fans had never noticed.
In other cases the references come by external means, as in the case of Halo Infinite which, you would never have guessed, contains a bit of Metal Gear Solid .
Returning to the episode released for PlayStation, which already had a remarkable series of kojimas that made history at the time, one of these was recently discovered by an online user.
In the first 3D adventure of Solid Snake , the mercenary is always faced with a considerable number of guards and opponents of all kinds.
Being able to take the best path to dodge them, or play with their artificial intelligence to overcome, or even face them openly, is the heart of the experience of every Metal Gear Solid .
But someone has discovered that they can even be controlled , with a makeup reminiscent of those put up by Psycho Mantis .
As you can see in the video above, by plugging the controller into the second console input , you can control the guards during the final escape sequence aboard the jeep.
This trick is applicable between the first wave of guards and the start of the escape sequence with Liquid Snake . Something that has been there for all these years, and that will delight speedrunners .
