As the boomerang is back, the news of the Metal Gear Solid 3 refresh is back. The full remake is to be created by the Singaporean team, which so far was responsible for several large AAA production ports. Work on the title has probably been going on for several years.
In early October, reports that Konami shared its biggest brands were released . The studio that would be developing Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is known Virtuos , but so far the developers have not commented on the information included in the VGC editorial report. Interestingly, the latest discovery could increase the interest of players waiting for the big comeback.
As it turns out, Zhiyang Li (the studio’s lead developer) revealed on his LinkedIn profile that he is working on an “unannounced remake of the AAA action adventure game.” Of course, the message does not serve as a confirmation of the refresh, but we can assume that Virtuos has engaged its best developers in the project.
In the programmer’s note, we can read that the title would offer 4K visuals and AAA game quality, a new damage system, and work on refreshing the game has been underway since October 2018. If the information turns out to be correct, most likely we should hear about the title next year.
Studio Virtuos was founded in 2004 and mainly deals with the preparation of ports or supporting other teams in the work on many AAA productions. The creators moved Dark Souls Remastered, The Outer Worlds and The BioShock Collection to the Nintendo Switch, as well as helped with such items as Battlefield 1, Uncharted 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn.
