The 2021 of video games is ending, and between free games, subscriptions, and of course the new releases , there was a lot of material to be fed to Metacritic.
Metacritic collected all the best and worst games of the year as players decreed which platform they preferred to hang out on .
As you know, Metacritic collects all the reviews of all the sites and newspapers in the world (including SpazioGames) and provides a numerical result as an average.
For our judgment we will not take into consideration the User Score which, as the name suggests, represents the users’ satisfaction score .
Before seeing which are the best let’s see, instead, which are the video games considered worst of 2021 .
Metacritic consecrates, so to speak, eFootball 2022 as the worst game ever. With his 25 points , Konami ‘s attempt to rehabilitate his football saga didn’t exactly go through. Immediately below are Balan Wonderworld and Werewolf: the Apocalypse – Earthblood , with their 36 and 42 represent the negative podium of this 2021 of video games.
As for the best video games of 2021 according to Metacritic, however, we formally find Disco Elysium: The Final Cut in first place . This is not an original title from 2021, but a re-release of the acclaimed RPG which, with its 97 of Metacritic, is on paper the best game of 2021 .
If we look at the original titles , however, the podium is entirely from Microsoft. Forza Horizon 5, Psychonauts 2 and Flight Simulator lead the way with 92, 91 and 90 final points.
A truly sparkling year for Microsoft which, also thanks to Xbox Game Pass , has had the opportunity to unleash many interesting releases.
Sony is preparing instead for a 2022 with all the trimmings , because in its lineup there will be titles of great depth such as God of War Ragnarok .
