The ‘insider’ Dusk Golem shares the images that have been blocked by Konami, but that continue to circulate through the network in different forums and media; is not the only Silent Hill in development.
For years, different insiders have reported a rebirth of the Silent Hill saga . Those rumors began to take shape, or at least become more credible, last year. Konami announced a deal with Bloober Team ( The Medium , Layers of Fear ) and multiple sources told VGC that the Japanese firm will bring back the horror series, Castlevania , and Metal Gear . In the early hours of this Friday, May 13, one of the usual leakers, Dusk Golem (with a history of both successes and failures), has shared several conceptual arts of one of at least two Silent Hill in development . That Konami has forced the insider to remove the images (which are still circulating on the net) gives truth to the matter, although the Japanese brand has not officially announced this game.
“There are many things that I will not share for now,” says Dusk Golem in one of the Twitter messages. “This is from a relatively new source to me, but I’ve been given more than enough evidence to believe it . I’ll also mention the names ‘Anita and Maya’ and ‘SMS messages’. [Also] this is n’t the only Silent Hill in development ” . The insider admits that the images are from 2020 , so “maybe this project looks a little different now,” but stresses that he has proof that these concept arts are real.
In these images we can see several rooms, what looks like a living room and a kitchen, eaten by dirt, in a way that reminds us of the Baker mansion from Resident Evil 7 . Also a corridor full of notes and the face of a woman with a cracked face, through whose holes you can see even more annotations with messages like: “I hate myself.” In that penultimate image the sharpest eyes have found that you can read Bloober Team , the Polish studio responsible for Observer that has an agreement with Konami.
However, according to the previous information offered by Dusk Golem compiled on Reddit by the user TheLadderStabber, the creators of Blair Witch are not the only ones involved in the creation of the game, since it is a “joint production” in which Sony Interactive Entertainment she is involved in marketing duties (similar to her role in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake ). Despite the fact that a PS5 announcement hides references to Konami’s horror saga , it may be that Sony’s involvement is in another Silent Hill , as we explain later.
Masahiro Ito, designer and illustrator on the first three Silent Hill games , is supposedly involved in the game. Ito said in January 2020 that he was working on a project that he hoped would “not be canceled this time” . A year later he assured that said production continued in progress. Dusk Golem, who claims to have thirty images of the title, published a conceptual art signed by Ito and dated October 2020 long ago, very similar to the conceptual art of the corridor released today.
There are no details of the video game itself except for two aspects. For one thing, that Dusk Golem reference to SMS messages , a gameplay mechanic that was planned for Kojima Productions’ canceled Silent Hills . On the other hand, for the argument part, the Japanese text of one of the images speaks of a mother abandoning her daughter . Keep in mind that Konami canceled a game in 2020 that was a “resurrection of a specific intellectual property”, so it can be this title.
Tomm Hulett is the producer on Silent Hill: Shattered Memories , Silent Hill: Downpour, and Silent Hill: Book of Memories , as well as associate producer on Silent Hill: Origins and Contra 4 . Although he left Konami in 2013, he has written on Twitter: “If a studio has multiple people submitting materials to a known leaker, they are not professional enough to do the game justice.”
