In June, 343 Industries revealed that it is internally exploring the possibility of adding microtransactions to Halo: The Master Chief Collection . Fortunately, the criticism of the players enlightened the developers.
In a recent news update on the Halo Waypoint Blog, the studio confirmed that it had ultimately decided not to include real-world currency acquisition of Spartan Points in the compilation .
In addition, 343 Industries intends to make some changes to the Spartan points system and “remove barriers” that players face. This will result in the 100 points limit being lifted and players retroactively receiving Spartan Points . The developers will also continue to tweak the balance of quests to make them more rewarding, and bring back double XP weekends.
The changes will come with the next content update for The Master Chief Collection scheduled for November.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store.
