Horizon Forbidden West could have a sequel to compose the Horizon trilogy, with the creative director making clear reference to another chapter.
Guerrilla Games is already thinking about a possible sequel to Horizon Forbidden West , apparently, as reported by the creative director Mathijs de Jonge in an interview published by VG247, also considering how the story can foresee a continuation.
First of all, we warn that de Jonge’s words, while being extremely vague, could contain spoilers, so in case avoid reading, even if they are not specific elements of the story.
“This game ends with another big cliffhanger, where we’re setting up some things for the next game once again,” said the creative director, clearly referring to a third installment in the series.
“Horizon is really about mystery; each of our stories has been about uncovering mysteries in both the old world and the present day, when the game takes place,” explained the director further, “There is plenty of backstory that we can tap into to develop new storylines and create new mysteries from what we’ve already established.”
On the other hand, the idea that Horizon could be a trilogy was already pretty clear previously, so de Jonge’s words don’t really come as surprising, but it is perhaps one of the first times that a developer clearly refers to a third chapter in planning.
