The British chain ShopTo has sent promotional emails to its customers anticipating that there will be a dynamic 4K 30 FPS mode and a dynamic 4K mode at 60 FPS.
The PlayStation 5 edition of God of War: Ragnarok will have two graphics modes , UK store ShopTo revealed in a promotional email sent to its customers. One of the modes will bet on the sharpness of the image, offering a native 4K resolution and a fluidity of 30 frames per second . The other will run the Santa Monica Studio action adventure at 60 FPS in dynamic 4K resolution .
Neither PlayStation Studios nor the Californian development studio have confirmed this information, which is missing the fine print in performance mode anyway. The dynamic 4K that we see in more and more games can be seen very differently if the common denominator is a high resolution like 1800p (which Horizon Forbidden West runs at, for example) or if it ranges between 1080p and 4K.
We will have to wait for the technical analyzes that will appear on the network in the weeks around the launch. Nor can it be ruled out that they decide to include more modes , as has recently happened with Insomniac Games titles such as Ratchet & Clank: A Separate Dimension and Spider-Man: Miles Morales , and with the aforementioned Guerrilla Games work. The latter recently introduced a balanced 40 FPS mode intended for screens with a refresh rate of 120 hertz, and a 120 FPS mode.
