Earlier this year, Bandai Namco checked information received from players and confirmed the vulnerability in Dark Souls servers. The developers have been working on fixing the problems for a long time, but we can confirm that the multiplayer game will return to PC soon in the three From Software games.
At the end of January, we informed our community that a security vulnerability in Dark Souls 3 would allow a hacker to take control of a player’s computer . Then it turned out that this problem is found in all From Software games in this series, so the publisher shut down the servers for Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 before the release of Elden Ring .
The editors of PC Gamer have confirmed that From Software has officially announced the return of the servers in the aforementioned titles. Developers intend to slowly restore the network infrastructure in games:
“We are currently in the process of restoring the online servers for the Dark Souls series on PC. We plan to restore online service for each game progressively, bringing back servers for Dark Souls 3 once we complete the necessary work to correct the problem. We will provide additional updates as soon as the restoration schedule is finalized. We want to thank all our players for your patience and understanding as we work to fix this issue.”
This is good news for players looking to return to the Dark Souls series on PC, but those interested have been waiting for the servers to resurrect. In recent weeks, there have been concerns about the return of the multiplayer game to the above-mentioned items, but as you can see, soon those interested will be able to face bosses with their friends.
