We don’t have good news for players waiting for the first fully next-gen Square Enix title developed exclusively for PS5 and PC. Forspoken suffered another delay and production will not be available until 2023.
Forspoken was scheduled to debut on May 24, but Square Enix delayed its release and announced the game’s release on October 11. Now, however, we can confirm that this date will also not be met, because the adventure is not expected to reach players until January 24.
“As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase. “
Developers published a short message confirming that although Forspoken is on the home straight, it was decided to delay the premiere due to a “strategic decision”. Apparently, Square Enix doesn’t want to compete with the big titles that are due to debut in October and November.
In the summer we will see new materials from the game, but it must be admitted that the situation with the position is really interesting – Square Enix apparently fears that the new IP will not be able to cope with, among others, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, God of War Ragnarök or Hogwarts Legacy.
