Paul Bertone , former director at Bungie , has joined 343 Industries to work at Halo Infinite in the role of technical design director: he will be in charge of bridging the gap between programming and design.
A few days after the announcement of the release date of the Halo Infinite co-operative campaign, the game will therefore be able to count on a high-profile personality in the development team, who worked on the first five episodes of the franchise.
“I’m happy to confirm Halo veteran Paul Bertone has joined the team as Studio Technical Design Director,” Joseph Staten, head of creative at 343 Industries wrote on Twitter.
“Paul and I met in 1999, back in Bungie’s Chicago days, and then shipped Halo 1-3, ODST and Reach together. I’m thrilled to have Paul help lead the future of Halo Infinite.”
Bertone worked at Bungie from 2000 to 2012, then left the company during the transition from Halo to Destiny. During that time he collaborated with several studios, including Undead Labs on State of Decay and State of Decay 2.
