Electronic Arts apparently wants to provide players with more shooters. The company opened a new studio to develop first-person shooters and Marcus Lehto became the director of the team. This is a very interesting transfer considering the developer’s recent project.
Electronic Arts has, among others, DICE, Respawn Entertainment and Ripple Effect Studio, three teams that can deliver high-budget shooters to the market, but the publisher has an appetite for more. The company has yet to announce the formation of a new team, but Marcus Lehto did.
Co-creator of the Halo series has not been developing the Microsoft brand for years, but Marcus Lehto recently tried his hand at his own team and wanted to launch a new IP on the market, but his Disintegration did not attract the expected audience. The game definitely hit the basket too quickly, and the studio boss confirmed the team’s closure .
Now Marcus Lehto can count on much more support. He became the director of a young team that will be working on first-person shooters in Seattle. We will probably have to wait a few years for the first project, but it is definitely worth watching the information from EA and Lehto himself.
