The dataminers are continuing to dig into Elden Ring and have discovered a mission cut by Vyke, the cover character.
According to what was discovered by the dataminer, in Elden Ring there was a mission for Vyke , the character who appears on the cover. She unfortunately she was cut. FromSoftware probably initially had other plans for him, but ultimately relegated him to the role of an extra as an invading mini boss. Defeating him gains his armor and spear.
Vyke was one of the great mysteries of the game right from the start. Why put a character of no importance on the cover? Now the dataminers have found the answer: a canceled mission chain was all about him.
In Gostoc, there are many dubbed lines of dialogue that refer to Vyke itself. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of material and no lines of text or dialogue belonging to the actual quest have been found, but its spawn point suggests it would have been summonable to help the player face a boss in Stormveil Castle.
The quest would have had some dialogue choices and would have offered various rewards, including unnamed items, also cut from the game. In the video posted above you can also see Vyke’s face. Unfortunately, it is perfectly normal that in video games some contents are cut, either to lighten the production, or because in practice they do not work as well as on paper. What is certain is that in this case the cut is quite relevant, being the cover character.
