According to Jason Schreier, Eidos Montreal under the wing of the Embracer Group is working on a Deus Ex game, a new IP and collaborating on Xbox projects, including a Fable.
According to the information shared by Jason Schreier, Eidos Montreal is working on several major projects. Specifically, according to the Bloomberg journalist, the studio, recently acquired by Embracer Group, is planning a new IP and a new game of the famous Deus Ex franchise . It also appears that Eidos Montreal is collaborating with Xbox for the co-development of various projects, including Fable.
The information came along with the tip about the closure of the Onoma studio, formerly known as Square Enix Montreal. According to Schreier, part of the staff will be relocated to the offices of Eidos Montreal, which has various projects in the pipeline, as mentioned previously.
Among them, according to Schreier’s sources, is a new game by Deux Ex, currently in an embryonic stage of development, and a new IP, recently scaled down. It also appears that Eidos is partnering with Microsoft to co-develop various Xbox Studios projects. Among these there is also a Fable , but it is not clear whether it is the new game from Playground Games or a different project.
According to sources, the Embracer Group studio was also working on a game based on the Netflix series Stranger Things , but it seems to have been canceled.
We recommend taking these rumors with a grain of salt as they do not have official confirmation. That said, the tip about the closure of Onoma proved to be spot on, as it was later confirmed by an Embracer Group spokesperson, so the other information may also turn out to be correct.
