Microsoft has just confirmed the surprising news. The first players will be able to check voice conversations via Discord, which will certainly have a very positive impact on the gameplay and the continuation of discussions with friends.
Sony in January confirmed Discord’s “full support” for PS5 and PS4 , but it turns out that Microsoft has also worked with the company because we’ve just received a very interesting announcement.
Today, Xbox Insiders users can check out a new feature – voice calls via Discord. The company took care of the full support of the proposal, which will allow players to talk smoothly with their friends:
“Today’s update enables a highly requested feature – Discord Voice on Xbox consoles allows you to talk with your friends and community while you play your favorite games. Planning a few rounds of multiplayer action in Halo Infinite with buddies on both console and PC? Exploring new biomes with your friends in Minecraft? See them already playing a game that supports cross-play? Connect to their voice channel and chat as you all play.”
“While you are playing on your console, you will be able to see who is in the call and speaking. You’ll also be able to adjust the sound, and switch between Discord Voice and Xbox game chat. “
The situation is certainly interesting because, as you know , Microsoft wanted to buy Discord last year , but the company rejected a large corporation offer and decided to cooperate with various companies. After all, the Redmond giant wants to use the communicator’s capabilities and took care of more support on Xboxes.
Microsoft notes that today’s update will be offered to select members of the Xbox Insider program, but will be available to more players in the coming weeks.
