Although the remake of the first Dead Space has not yet debuted on the market, there are speculations about a possible refreshment of the next installment of the series. The developer’s reaction to this question gives hope.
Dead Space remake has been electrifying the gaming community for many weeks. The closer we get to the title’s premiere, the more “hajp” around it builds up. It is hardly surprising, Electronic Arts skillfully awakens the appetite of the community by presenting new materials from the game. The wide-ranging promotional campaign also includes interviews with the creators. One of them was attended by Roman Campos-Oriola, Creative Director of Motive Studio.
In an interview with a journalist from the VGC portal, the developer referred, among other things, to the impact that work on the game about Iron Man will have on the future of Dead Space – a large part of the team will be involved in the project. Interestingly, Campos-Oriola did not rule out the further development of the popular horror series .
What I like is the fact that it gives us a lot of room to move forward in terms of completing this game [ Dead Space remake – ed. ed.]. Personally, I’m a big fan of Dead Space , but as for the future, I don’t know, Campos-Oriola said.
When the journalist asked directly about a possible refresh of Dead Space 2 , the developer pointed to the PR specialist with clear amusement and said:
Do you want him to hit me in the face?
Then he added:
[…] It’s not uncommon to have a studio with multiple projects. Especially in big companies like EA. The recruiting thing, and I’m just talking about Dead Space again , is that I joined to work on this game, and we have a lot of people here […].
It is true that Campos-Oriola did not reveal plans to refresh the “two”, but his reaction may give hope that the studio is at least considering such an eventuality . Nevertheless, any decisions will most likely be made only after the premiere of the first remake and will depend on the reception of the game.
Finally, let us remind you that the remake of Dead Space will debut on January 27, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
