The PC version of Dead Island 2 will be an exclusive of the Epic Games Store, the official confirmation has arrived.
A press release confirms that Dead Island 2 will be hitting “PC via the Epic Games Store” on February 3, 2023, alongside launches across PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
This is a detail that we had already hypothesized last night when the new trailer and gameplay video of Dead Island 2 was shown at the Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2022, but now the official has arrived. That said, at the moment we don’t know if the game will be a temporal or total exclusive of the Epic Games Store.
Among other things, the preoders of the PC version are already active at this address , which gives us the opportunity to also know the details of the Deluxe Edition and the Gold Edition , as well as the pre-purchase bonuses.
The Deluxe Edition of Dead Island 2 includes two premium character packs with an original costume and weapon, and the Golden Weapons Pack. The Gold Edition, in addition to the contents of the Deluxe, also includes the Pulp Weapons Pack with two additional weapons and the Season Pass. Regardless of the edition, pre-purchasing the game will receive the Banoi Memories Pack with two weapons, a special weapon perk and a skill card.
Dead Island 2 will not be an open world but will have very large maps
Dead Island 2 will not boast an open world structure , it seems: the game will project us into very large maps , which however will alternate within a traditional type progression.
“This is a very distant solution from the engaging open world crossings of Dying Light, but maybe that’s the point, and maybe it’s not a defect”, reads the article that Polygon has dedicated to the game.
“Keeping your feet firmly planted on the ground and continuing to have a simple approach could be the best way to make Dead Island 2 distance itself from its troubled past.”
