Cyberpunk 2077 could have its own Game of the Year Edition in 2023 after the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion, as suggested by the CEO of CD Projekt.
This is not yet an official announcement, but the words of the CEO of CD Projekt RED, Adam Kicinski , seem to indicate the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077: Game of the Year Edition with an expected release probably in 2023 .
The idea is certainly not out of this world and refers precisely to what was done previously with The Witcher 3. Since it is probably an all-encompassing edition with all the post-launch content, one would think that Cyberpunk 2077: Game of the Year Edition may arrive shortly after the release of the new Phantom Liberty expansion.
The first news in this regard emerged from Stockwatch.pl, which refers to the words of the CEO of CD Projekt himself, which still remain a bit vague but seem to indicate the repetition of what was done with the previous game and the release of the expanded and enriched after the launch of the new maxi-expansion.
– It’s a natural order of things – it was the same with The Witcher, which after both expansions was finally released as a Game of the Year Edition and has been operating on the market ever since. The same can be expected in this case. It’s quite obvious – said Kiciński during the presentation as part of the GPW Innovation Day.
He added that along with the addition of “Phanton Liberty”, a large update of “Cyberpunk 2077” is being prepared.
– The target version of “Game of the Year” “CP2077” will be just after the update and including the new addition. This version will be available at “full” price. What else can you expect here, said the president.
