It will sound crazy to you, but I am telling you that it has many similarities with the case of its prequel or Twilight Princess.
Yesterday, the gaming community received the worst news in the world that could have been given to us… Well, maybe it’s an exaggeration because nobody dies from what happened, but it is clear that the delay of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 to 2023 was a very fat stick. But yesterday, talking about it in private with friends, I said that it was very strange to me; the game was dated for 2022 and there are still 9 months to go. Why not announce the delay later?
But well, many will believe that it is because the sooner the better, without more. And surely you are even right, but it is also true that the delay of Breath of the Wild 2 is quite similar to that of two other cases in the saga that are relatively recent and that led to two very, very similar outcomes. And if that’s the case for the new Nintendo game due out in 2023, we could be at the first clue of a new console.
A new Nintendo next to the delay of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2?
Let’s see, this is very theoretical and hypothetical. That’s why I call this post “article” and not “news”, because it’s something that I’ve gotten a little out of my sleeve but I think it’s very interesting to bring it to bear in mind. Let’s go there!
- The delay of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 reminds me a lot of the case of the first installment of the saga, which was announced for Wii U and they planned to release it in 2015. It was delayed for two years and, in the end, it ended up joining the Nintendo Switch release (console for which it also came out) ✅
- On the other hand, something very similar also happened with Twilight Princess, which ended up coming out with Wii, becoming available both on that console and on the mythical GameCube ✅
- At this point… what if the delay of Breath of the Wild 2 is a strategy? ❓
- If we compare this situation with the ones mentioned before, we could intuit that they are even delaying the game to launch it together with another new console and thus boost its sales ❗️
- A new console that, if the theory is true, would arrive in 2023 and would not necessarily be a new Nintendo, since Switch would only be 6 years old and it would be soon (although Switch came out when Wii U was 5 years old, but it was a case exceptional given the commercial failure of the latter) ❗️
- So it could also be a Nintendo Switch Pro or something like that ✌🏼
Let’s see, I also want to mention that many believe that there will not be a Nintendo Switch Pro or that another console will come out in 2023. But… imagine if this theory were true. In that case, if they wanted to release the game alongside another console but it wasn’t going to come out until 2024, could it be the case that they push Breath of the Wild 2 back to 2024? Bah, I highly doubt it, but there’s the theory! Tell me in comments what do you think ^^
