Beyond Good & Evil 2 broke the record for the time elapsed from the announcement of the video game to its premiere. Until recently, the king in this category was the infamous Duke Nukem Forever, but Ubisoft’s production managed to throw the prince off the throne – with the date of the debut neither widu nor heard.
Brendan Sinclair, a GamesIndustry.biz journalist, drew attention to the curiosity . Here is the data for both of these titles – as of today:
- Duke Nukem Forever – 5156 days from announced in 1997 to premiere in 2011
- Beyond Good & Evil 2 – 5237 days from the first announcement trailer in 2008
In the case of continuation of the iconic Ubisoft game , it already gives over 14 years and 4 months of waiting . The trailer mentioned below:
What’s happening with Beyond Good & Evil 2? It can certainly be said that the game is in the so-called “Developer hell” , i.e. a state in which the progress of work is reset even several times and the project has no clear direction.
As late as February 2022, the game was reportedly in its pre-production phase , and internal tests carried out the same year did not seem to have made a very positive impression on people who had contact with the title.
Beyond Good & Evil 2 is slowly becoming a ghost game, and many people do not believe that it will ever hit the market at all.
