It looks like the Season 1 debut actually revitalized Battlefield 2042, which surpassed Halo Infinite on Steam.
Battlefield 2042 has surpassed Halo Infinite on Steam : apparently the launch of Season 1 of the shooter DICE has had the desired effect and the game is slowly regaining ground, although the numbers are still very far from the initial expectations.
At present , the only project by DICE, which therefore has no time for Mirror’s Edge or anything else, Battlefield 2042 began to recover in the month of June, precisely in conjunction with the arrival of the first season, scoring double figures compared to Halo Infinite.
In particular, pointed out Tom Henderson, in the past few hours the title produced by Electronic Arts has even recorded three times the number of online users compared to the free-to-play multiplayer of the latest chapter of the Microsoft series.

Of course, in both cases we are talking about products that have had some major problems with post-launch support and, in general, with the live service approach. However, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite is indeed free , while Battlefield 2042 remains a paid title.
We will hardly see substantial changes, unless Electronic Arts really does not consider the idea of turning Battlefield 2042 into a free-to-play , as was rumored a few months ago.
