Assetto Corsa Competizione has been chosen by the FIA as the official game for the eSport section of the FIA Motorsport Games, in place of Gran Turismo.
FIA has announced that Assetto Corsa Competizione will be the official game of the FIA Motorsport Games for the 2022 event, thus replacing Gran Turismo which had previously occupied this space within the official eSports competitions of the International Automobile Federation.
With the loss of the official FIA license in Gran Turismo 7, there was indeed doubt that the Polyphony Digital game could maintain its central role within the FIA Motorsport Games and confirmation of the change came unequivocally from the Federation. , which announced the use of Assetto Corsa Competizione as a game to focus racing on in 2022.
The competition of the FIA Motorsport Games in 2022 is also extended, with 17 different motorsport disciplines and drivers from 146 sports associations from all over the world, who will find themselves competing for the medals up for grabs.
Also in this case it is a competition for nations, so there will be a real medal table with ranking among the different participating countries.
Among the disciplines provided there is also the eSport category , focused on the challenges between virtual drivers on a racing simulation: this year it will be about competing on Assetto Corsa Competizione, while last year the game on which the drivers competed it was Gran Turismo Sport .
The eSports section of the FIA Motorsport Games will focus, in particular, on the use of GT3 cars within Assetto Corsa Competizione.
