The experienced studio Saber Interactive has joined the work on KotOR Remake. It is designed to support the Aspyr team in creating this “fantastic, huge game.”
The announcement of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic pleased Star Wars fans so much that they were not particularly worried about the distant release date of the production, or the fact that at its debut it will be available only on PC and PS5 (so we’re talking about console timed title exclusive PlayStation). Another reason to be happy is the fact that Aspyr , a studio that makes up KotOR Remake , has received the support of the experienced team from Saber Interactive .
This information was announced during the presentation of the financial report of the Embracer group – the parent company of both developers – for the fourth quarter of 2021. One of the company’s board members, Matthew Karch, said:
“Aspyr has gone full in to make this the best game that they can make. When we acquired Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would require our assistance [and] Saber has tremendous expertise in creating these types of products“
From The Witcher to KotOR
It is worth noting that Saber Interactive has recently worked on the “next-gen” update of The Witcher 3 , but has been removed from the project. It will be completed by the internal team of CD Projekt RED studio and is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2022.
When is the premiere of KotOR’s remake?
But when can we expect a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ? We do not know this – it is possible, however, that it will change after the Summer Game Fest 2022 , where the game can be presented (or at the Sony show – if it finally takes place). Matthew Karch, already quoted, assured that it will be fantastic and huge:
“We’re fully confident that the game is going to be fantastic but it’s a massive, massive product and massive products require a lot of effort and a lot of time to make good. And especially when you’re talking about a game already old – very old – we’ve basically had to remake that game from scratch“
