After the explosive debut of Call of Duty Warzone and the original Verdansk map, many Activision battle royale players have moved to the smaller Rebirth Island map , which guarantees more frequent firefights and more chaotic games.
According to insider Tom Henderson, who has repeatedly proved to be a reliable source for the Call of Duty franchise, Raven Software is developing a new map that will replace Rebirth Island in COD Warzone 2 .
The information comes from one of Henderson’s sources who was able to test a Warzone 2 playtest. According to what was leaked, a second map was visible in the game menu , however it was not accessible during the playtest.
“Not much is currently known about the second map, but it has been suggested that it could be similar in size to Rebirth Island from the original Warzone. ,” Henderson said. A second map wouldn’t be a big surprise given the success of Warzone’s current Rebirth Island map, which serves as a smaller, closer experience than the game’s main map . However, this new war scenario is unlikely to be proposed immediately upon launch of the game. Henderson’s source says the second map is at an advanced stage of development, but it is likely that it will be rolling out sometime after Warzone 2 launches.
