The release period of The Last of Us TV series was unveiled by Casey Bloys, the head of HBO, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Casey Bloys, the head of HBO , has revealed the release period of the highly anticipated TV series of The Last of Us , which is set for the first months of 2023 .
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bloys talked about the list of nominees for the 2022 Emmy Awards, where 24 HBO shows have garnered a total of 155 nominations, and the company’s future plans, including The Last of Us TV series. Asked about the release date of the show with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey based on Naughty Dog’s exclusive PlayStation, Bloys said “It’s closer to early 2023”.
The debut of The Last of Us TV series should therefore take place in the first months of next year or at worst in the first half of 2023, as also suggested in May by Kantemir Balagov, the director of the pilot episode.
HBO’s The Last of Us TV series is produced in collaboration with PlayStation Productions, a studio formed by Sony to adapt its exclusive first party games into works for the big and small screen.
Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) will be Joel, while Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will be Ellie. Other cast members are Anna Torv, Merle Dandrige, Nick Offerman, Nico Parker, Gabriel Luna, Jeffrey Pierce and Murray Bartlett. The first season will retrace the events of the original game, released in 2013 exclusively for PS3 and which will return in the form of Remake for PS5 in September.
