The Metal Gear Solid movie may not be close, but the actor confirmed that he is still on board and wants it to come to fruition.
Oscar Isaac , famous actor in recent years for films such as Dune, Star Wars and the Moon Knight series, has had his say on the Metal Gear Solid film he will be part of, stating that he still wants to make it.
“We want it to happen,” Isaac told ComicBook.com. “Be excited. What’s the script? What’s the story? What’s the take? […] But hopeful that comes to fruition because there’s so much potential for that. It’s an incredible game. It’s my favorite.”
Last year, Deadline reported that the project, which has been in various stages of development for a few years, was finally moving into the new phase with Isaac as the protagonist. The film will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of Kong: Skull Island.
The Metal Gear franchise was created by Hideo Kojima in the 1980s. Kojima worked on the series until Metal Gear Solid 5 in 2015, which marked the end of his relationship with Konami, the publisher and owner of the franchise’s intellectual property.
Last year VGC unveiled that Konami had plans to relaunch the franchise, along with other IPs like Silent Hill and Castlevania. While the future of Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania is still a mystery, Konami unveiled multiple new Silent Hill games this week.
