Michael Green, who wrote Blade Runner 2049 and the latest Agatha Christie adaptations directed by Kenneth Branagh, will write the screenplay.
Netflix announced in February that it was working on a BioShock movie alongside 2K Games and Take Two, finally greenlighting a project that had been talked about for over a decade. Now we know some of the first managers who will participate in the adaptation of this beloved universe: Francis Lawrence will be the director and Michael Green the screenwriter.
Lawrence is the director of Constantine , I Am Legend , Water for Elephants , The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and both parts of Mockingjay or Red Sparrow , among others, while Green wrote Blade Runner 2049 , Murder on the Orient Express and Death in the Nile -the versions directed by Kenneth Branagh based on the novels by Agatha Christie-, Jungle Cruise , Green Lantern or Alien: Covenant .
BioShock is a 2007 classic developed by 2K Boston-later Irrational Games- where Jack discovers the dystopia of Rapture, an underwater city inspired by Ayn Rand’s objectivism. Its success in sales and reviews allowed to see BioShock 2 in 2010 and BioShock Infinite in 2013, this time set in Columbia, a city in the clouds. BioShock 4 is now official but no material has been shown.
