It will take very little time for cheaters and hackers to create ‘exploits’ for the game
A week ago I echoed a piece of news that the entire gaming community that enjoys the works of FromSoftware should know . Days ago an ‘exploit’ was found in Dark Souls III that allowed hackers to access users’ PCs , causing great damage. And just as suspected, it appears that Elden Ring will present the same security issues .
All Dark Souls servers have been down for a week, and won’t be back until FromSoftware and Bandai Namco find a solution . However, according to user and modder LukeYui (known to be a veteran in the Miyazaki game community) to VGC , there is not much hope that the launch of Elden Ring will be completely safe .
Elden Ring’s debut may be a hotbed of ‘cheats’
- LukeYui commented that in his day he had the opportunity to see part of the Elden Ring private beta code that some users were able to test a few months ago… and its structure was almost identical to that of Dark Souls III ❌
- Dark Souls has always been characterized by security problems that were never solved by Bandai Namco and FromSoftware, so this user has been trying to reason with the developers for a long time. These bugs need to be fixed
- ” I suspect it will take 5 minutes for cheaters to port their Dark Souls 3 scripts to Elden Ring, making launch day hell for many players ,” added LukeYui 😢
During all these years, the Souls community had no choice but to create their own remedies to deal with cheaters. LukeYui himself was in charge of developing the Blue Sentinel mod , which reduced the impact of these hackers in the multiplayer aspect. Will FromSoftware and Bandai Namco take matters into their own hands once and for all?
